According to the latest report from Counterpoint, the global shipment of smart glasses in the first half of 2025 will increase by 110% year-on-year, with AI glasses accounting for 78% of the total. Meta continues to dominate with 73% market share, and Ray Ban series shipments have skyrocketed by 200%. Huawei, TCL Thunderbird Innovation, and Xiaomi have collectively entered the global top five for the first time, forming a "Chinese brand triangle offensive": Huawei, relying on its fashion route in cooperation with Gentle Monster, ranks second, Thunderbird Innovation ranks third with AR technology, and Xiaomi quickly rose to fourth place with a price of 1999 yuan. Differentiated pricing and market strategies are gradually leveraging Meta's dominant position.
Cognex Optics disclosed its performance for the first half of 2025, with revenue increasing by 11.1% year-on-year to RMB 1.084 billion (approximately 130 million euros). The company shipped 93 million lenses in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%. Cornell is continuously investing in automated production lines and research and development of lenses related to smart glasses, promoting the upgrading of its business structure.
The latest forecast from Research and Markets shows that the Saudi Arabian eyewear market (covering optical lenses, contact lenses, and sunglasses) will grow from $1.9 billion in 2024 to $3.3 billion in 2033, with an expected compound annual growth rate of 6.4%. Consumer upgrading and health demand will become the main driving factors.
The Statista report points out that if Trump's tariff policy continues until 2029, the size of the US e-commerce market may shrink by $320 billion compared to the non tax scenario, to $1.52 trillion, a decrease of about 17%. Fashion, home and other categories have been hit the hardest, and companies generally expect cost increases and take measures such as raising prices and transferring supply chains. On the consumer side, it is manifested as hoarding goods in advance, preferring American products, but with limited acceptable price increases. The report believes that tariffs will profoundly affect supply chains, prices, and consumer behavior, and companies need to plan ahead to respond.
TikTok Shop Thailand announced that starting from October 1, 2025, platform merchants must achieve same day shipping for orders: orders generated before 12 am must be shipped before 23:59 on the same day, and any delay will result in penalty points. The introduction of the new regulations coincides with the rapid expansion of Thailand's e-commerce market, which is expected to reach a scale of 1.07 trillion Thai baht by 2025. Research shows that 55% of Thai consumers are willing to pay a premium for fast service, and over 80% of consumers expect "same day delivery" in the next three years. E-commerce competition is shifting from price to speed and service experience.
